HARRISBURG – The grim halls of justice were echoing with the guilty plea of Santino Rey Texidor, a 29-year-old Harrisburg resident, who today admitted to trafficking over 50 grams of cocaine in the heart of Dauphin County.
In a courtroom that saw no leniency, Texidor faced Magistrate Judge Susan Schwab and entered his plea, marking the culmination of a joint investigation with the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General – Narcotics Investigations.
United States Attorney David J. Freed lauded the collaborative efforts, stating, ‘Our partnership with state and local law enforcement knows no boundaries in our quest to rid our communities of illegal drugs and ensure street safety.’
Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro echoed these sentiments, highlighting the collaboration between his office and the U.S. Attorney’s Office that led to Texidor’s conviction.
As sentencing looms, the Judge will consider federal statutes and guidelines, with a maximum penalty of 40 years imprisonment, four years supervised release, and a $5 million fine hanging over Texidor’s head. This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), an initiative aimed at reducing violent crime and enhancing community safety.
The gritty reality of drug trafficking in Dauphin County was made stark by the sentence Texidor now faces, underscoring the severe consequences for those who peddle dangerous drugs on our streets.
