Acting U.S. Attorney James P. Kennedy Jr. has announced that Michael Robertson, a 27-year-old member of the notorious Schuele Boys gang, pleaded guilty in federal court to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and distributing over 500 grams of cocaine.
Robertson’s conviction comes after an investigation by the FBI’s Safe Streets Task Force under Special Agent-in-Charge Adam S. Cohen. The gang member, who was one of 28 arrested in this case, now faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years to a maximum of 40 and a fine of $5 million.
Assistant U.S. Attorney George C. Burgasser revealed that Robertson conspired with fellow Schuele Boys associates from June 2013 to July 2014 to distribute cocaine in Buffalo. During a search of his Eggert Road residence, law enforcement found $19,000 in cash and 300 grams of the drug.
The Schuele Boys are known for their role in multiple violent acts and drug distribution across the city. The gang’s activities have included the sale of illegal substances like cocaine, crack cocaine, and marijuana.
Robertson’s plea is just one more victory in a case that has seen 23 out of 28 defendants convicted to date.
Sentencing for Robertson is set for August 7, 2017, before U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara.
