A former Waukesha County neurologist has been sentenced to four years in federal prison for his role in the production and distribution of child pornography.
Sean A. Jochims, 51, of Pewaukee, Wisconsin, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge J.P. Stadtmueller on February 3, 2022, following a federal investigation by the Milwaukee Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
According to prosecutors, Jochims was found to be in possession of numerous images and videos depicting child pornography. The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
At sentencing, Judge Stadtmueller emphasized the serious nature of the offense and its impact on the children who are sexually abused in order to fuel the child pornography industry. ‘The victims are the most precious resources we have in our society . . . The FBI has the technology and the resources to investigate these cases because we can’t tolerate this behavior in our society,’ Stadtmueller said.
Jochims will also be required to comply with sex offender registry requirements, which mandate that he must notify registry officials where he is living, working, or attending school.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Megan J. Paulson and Abbey M. Marzick.
For those affected by child exploitation, the Victim Services division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office is available to provide support and resources. Contact them at (800) 680-8949 for further information and assistance.
