Crime Rocks Wisconsin Community: 61-Year-Old Man Pleads Guilty to Child Pornography Charges

A shocking guilty plea has been made in the Eastern District of Wisconsin. Jeffrey H. Ernisse, a 61-year-old man from Wisconsin, has pleaded guilty to producing and possessing child pornography, as well as engaging in illicit sexual conduct with a minor in the Philippines.

According to the charges, Ernisse produced child pornography in 2015 and possessed it in December of the same year. The illicit sexual conduct took place between June 2014 and April 2015 in the Philippines. He also produced child pornography in the Philippines in March and April 2015.

The investigation into Ernisse’s crimes was led by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), in cooperation with the Sheboygan, Wisconsin, Police Department. Trial Attorney William M. Grady of the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS) and Assistant U.S. Attorney Megan J. Paulson of the Eastern District of Wisconsin are prosecuting the case.

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice. The initiative marshals federal, state, and local resources to better locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims.

Ernisse is set to be sentenced on July 11, 2019. The guilty plea marks a significant step in the fight against child exploitation and abuse. As the community comes to terms with the severity of the crimes, the Grimy Times will continue to provide updates on this developing story.

The case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of protecting our children from those who would seek to harm them. The Grimy Times will continue to advocate for stronger laws and greater accountability to prevent such crimes from occurring in the future.
