Segundo Juan Maynato-Guaman, Illegal Re-Entry, New York 2025

ROCHESTER, N.Y.–In a gritty development, Segundo Juan Maynato-Guaman, also known as Segundo Juan Mainato-Guaman, 46, a citizen of Ecuador, has pleaded guilty and been sentenced for illegal re-entry into the United States. The defendant faced U.S. District Judge Frank P. Geraci, Jr., after being apprehended by Rochester Border Patrol Agents on June 25, 2025, during a traffic stop at the intersection of Brockport-Spencerport Road and Washington Street.

Maynato-Guaman, when questioned about his citizenship, brazenly replied, “Ecuador.” He then presented an agent with a New York State identification card bearing the name Segundo Mainato-Guaman. When asked about his legal status in the United States, he confessed, “yes, I do not have any documents.” A thorough records check revealed that Maynato-Guaman was physically removed from the U.S. in December 2009.

The plea and sentencing mark a significant victory for Operation Take Back America, an aggressive nationwide initiative aimed at combating illegal immigration, dismantling cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and safeguarding local communities from violent crime. Assistant U.S. Attorney Nicholas M. Testani handled the case with unwavering determination.

U.S. Border Patrol, under the direction of Patrol Agent-in-Charge Juan Ramirez, Jr., conducted a thorough investigation that led to the defendant’s conviction. Following his sentence, Maynato-Guaman was turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for further processing.

This case serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing battle against illegal immigration in the United States. With the Department of Justice marshalling its full resources, communities across the nation are taking steps to protect their citizens from the repercussions of unchecked illegal immigration.
