ALLEN, Texas – The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Texas is on a mission to protect seniors from the sinister clutches of Medicare fraud. A free workshop designed specifically to arm senior citizens with knowledge about identifying and thwarting these cunning schemes has been announced by U.S. Attorney John M. Bales.
Set for November 20, this critical session will be held at the Allen Public Library, where seniors will be educated on common fraud tactics and provided with chilling real-life examples of prior fraudulent Medicare activities. The workshop aims to empower participants with the necessary tools to safeguard their personal information and understand how to respond when they suspect foul play.
While the U.S. Attorney’s Office will not delve into individual medical benefits or claims, attendees can expect vital information on protective measures against identity theft and a clear understanding of whom to alert if they become potential victims.
