Serial Armed Robber Sentenced to 20+ Years

Lloyd Wings, a St. Louis, Missouri resident, has been sentenced to 252 months in prison for his role in a series of armed robberies that terrorized the city in 2018.

Wings pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit armed robbery, six counts of armed robbery, and two counts of using a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence.

According to court documents, Wings and his co-conspirators targeted commercial establishments in the City of St. Louis, using separate vehicles to scope out locations and carry out the robberies. Once inside, they would demand cash and valuables at gunpoint, often stealing from customers and employees as well.

The investigation, led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, revealed a coordinated effort to divide the spoils after each heist.

“Judge Ronnie L. White’s sentence today sends a clear message to those in our community who wish to do harm to others,” said United States Attorney Sayler Fleming. “These types of violent armed crimes simply will not be tolerated in the Eastern District of Missouri.”

While no victims were physically injured, the emotional toll of the robberies is immeasurable, Fleming added. The U.S. Attorney’s Office vowed to continue working with local, state, and federal law enforcement to bring perpetrators like Wings to justice.

The case serves as a reminder of the importance of community cooperation in preventing and investigating crimes like armed robbery.
