McAllen, TX – In a shocking turn of events, two brothers from La Villa have been ordered to federal prison following their convictions of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. The verdict was handed down by Chief U.S. District Judge Randy Crane.
According to court documents, Roberto Serna, 40, and Artemio Serna, 38, pleaded guilty to their crimes, with Roberto entering his plea on February 3, 2023, and Artemio entering his plea on November 30, 2022.
The brothers were caught selling a kilogram of methamphetamine to undercover authorities on September 26, 2022. During their plea, they admitted to selling the illicit substance on two separate occasions.
The FBI conducted the investigation into the Sernas’ illicit activities. Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert L. Guerra Jr. prosecuted the case.
Roberto Serna was ordered to serve 120 months in federal prison, immediately followed by five years of supervised release. His brother, Artemio, was previously ordered to serve the same sentence.
