A Seymour police officer has been charged with stealing $32,000 from the union funds, according to the source.
The officer, whose name has not been released, was charged with first-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny, according to the Seymour Police Department.
The charges stem from an investigation into the theft of $32,000 from the Seymour Police Union’s funds, which was discovered in January 2024.
The officer is scheduled to appear in court on April 15, 2024.
