Local Man Admits to Unlawful Firearm Possession
CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA – In a shocking turn of events, Shawn Allen Burns, a 46-year-old man from Fairmont, West Virginia, has admitted to the unlawful possession of a firearm.
Burns, also known as ‘Shawn Fain,’ is prohibited from having firearms due to a prior cocaine conviction in the Northern District of West Virginia. The U.S. Marshals discovered the 9mm pistol during a supervised release check on another defendant in Marion County.
According to court documents, Burns was found in possession of the firearm, which is a clear violation of his rights. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, along with the United States Marshals, investigated the case.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen Warner is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government. U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael John Aloi presided over the court proceedings.
Burns’ admission to the unlawful possession of a firearm is a serious offense, and he will face the consequences of his actions. The severity of his sentence will depend on the outcome of the case.
The people of Marion County are left to wonder how a man with a prior conviction was able to possess a firearm. This incident raises concerns about the effectiveness of current gun laws and the need for stricter regulations.
As the investigation continues, the community remains vigilant, waiting to see the outcome of the case. One thing is certain: Shawn Allen Burns will face the consequences of his actions, and the people of West Virginia will demand justice.
