Fairmont Man Admits to Firearms Charge

A Marion County man is facing serious consequences after admitting to a firearms charge. Shawn Monte Pritchard, 33, of Fairmont, West Virginia, pled guilty to one count of “Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.”

Pritchard, a person prohibited from having a firearm because of prior felony convictions, admitted to having a 12-gauge shotgun in May 2020 in Marion County. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the West Virginia State Police investigated the case.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Sarah E. Wagner is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government. U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael Aloi presided over the proceedings.
