Sheri K. Green, Methamphetamine Distribution, West Virginia 2021

A Belmont County woman has been sentenced to prison for her role in a methamphetamine distribution scheme, Grimy Times has learned.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of West Virginia, Sheri K. Green, 56, of Martins Ferry, Ohio, was sentenced to 12 months and one day of incarceration for her involvement in a methamphetamine conspiracy.

Green pleaded guilty in February 2021 to one count of Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute and to Distribute Methamphetamine.

The charges against Green alleged that she worked with others to distribute methamphetamine from August 2019 to August 2020 in Marshall County and elsewhere.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Clayton J. Reid prosecuted the case on behalf of the government.

The Marshall County Drug Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives investigated the case.

U.S. District Judge John Preston Bailey presided over the sentencing hearing.

The case is a reminder of the ongoing struggle to combat the methamphetamine epidemic in West Virginia.

Green’s sentence serves as a warning to those involved in the distribution of this deadly substance.
