Donald Glenn Beasley, Receipt and Possession of Child Pornography, Colorado 2024

Donald Glenn Beasley, 56, a former sheriff’s deputy from Colorado Springs, has been sentenced to 108 months in prison followed by 20 years of supervised release for the receipt and possession of child pornography. The sentence was handed down today by U.S. District Court Judge K. Michael Moore in Key Largo, Florida.

Beasley had been actively downloading child pornography through a peer-to-peer network using advanced encryption techniques when he was identified by FBI special agents. On September 20, 2018, a search warrant led to the seizure of his laptop and external hard drives containing numerous videos and images of child pornography, including many involving minors under the age of 12.

According to court records, Beasley pleaded guilty to the charges on February 11, 2019. U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida, Ariana Fajardo Orshan, commended the FBI’s efforts in the investigation and thanked the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children for their assistance.

This case was prosecuted under Project Safe Childhood, a federal initiative aimed at combating child exploitation and abuse online. The program has been in operation since May 2006 and involves coordination among federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to identify and prosecute offenders.
