Dock Lee Shoemaker, a 61-year-old resident of Calera, Oklahoma, has been sentenced to 36 months in prison for one count of Failure to Register as Sex Offender. The charge arose from an investigation by the U.S. Marshals Service, which uncovered Shoemaker’s failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements.
According to investigators, Shoemaker was convicted of Sexual Battery in the State of Oklahoma on February 3, 2016, and was required to register as a sex offender. However, from August 2020 until April 16, 2025, Shoemaker failed to register and update his registration while entering, leaving, or residing in Indian country within the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
On June 3, 2025, Shoemaker pleaded guilty to the charge. The Honorable Ronald A. White, Chief U.S. District Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, presided over the hearing. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jessie K. Pippin represented the United States in the case.
The sentence handed down to Shoemaker reflects the seriousness of the offense and the need to protect the public from individuals who fail to comply with sex offender registration requirements. The U.S. Marshals Service and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma worked together to investigate and prosecute the case, ensuring that justice was served.
Shoemaker will remain in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service pending transportation to a designated United States Bureau of Prisons facility to serve a non-paroleable sentence of incarceration. The case serves as a reminder of the importance of compliance with sex offender registration requirements and the consequences of failing to do so.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced the sentence, highlighting the office’s commitment to protecting the public and holding individuals accountable for their actions. The case against Shoemaker demonstrates the office’s dedication to investigating and prosecuting sex crimes, including failure to register as a sex offender.
