Slidell, Louisiana — A 25-year-old man has been arrested on 49 counts tied to the possession and production of child pornography involving victims under the age of 13. Shaun Dennis was taken into custody following a sweeping cyber investigation led by Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry’s Cyber Crime Unit.
Dennis faces 39 counts of possession of Pornography Involving Juveniles Under the Age of 13 and an additional 10 counts of producing the same. Authorities executed the arrest after months of digital surveillance and data tracing, culminating in a coordinated takedown with the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation, Department of Homeland Security, and the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office.
The suspect was booked without bond into the St. Tammany Parish Jail, where he remains pending further legal proceedings. Investigators say digital evidence seized from multiple devices linked directly to Dennis includes graphic material depicting minors in sexually explicit situations.
Attorney General Jeff Landry issued a public appeal for additional information, urging anyone with knowledge of Dennis’s activities to come forward. “I encourage anyone with information regarding potential criminal activity by Mr. Dennis to call my Cyber Crime Unit toll-free at 1-800-256-4506; callers may remain anonymous,” Landry stated.
The case underscores the growing reach of Louisiana’s cybercrime enforcement amid a surge in online exploitation cases. Landry’s office emphasized its commitment to targeting predators who use digital platforms to produce or distribute child sexual abuse material.
