Denver saw a chilling revelation today as Mohamed Sabry Soliman was indicted on 12 hate crime counts, including the heinous act of using Molotov cocktails to terrorize members of the ‘Run for Their Lives’ group at Boulder County Courthouse on June 1.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for Colorado and the Civil Rights Division’s Criminal Section are now prosecuting Soliman for these despicable acts, which they classify as hate crimes. The indictment states that Soliman threw two fiery cocktails into a crowd of peaceful protesters, shouting ‘Free Palestine!’ in the process.
Law enforcement recovered a handwritten note from Soliman’s vehicle, filled with vitriolic anti-Semitic sentiments and a declaration of war against Israel. During his interview, Soliman expressed his intent to exact revenge on those he considered Zionists, identifying his victims through internet searches for ‘Zionist’ events.
Soliman’s crimes are being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Boulder Police Department, a testament to the gravity of the charges against him. The case is currently under active investigation, with Soliman facing serious federal hate crime offenses.
Despite the gravely serious nature of these charges, it’s important to remember that an indictment is merely an allegation. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt at trial.
