GRIMY TIMES EXCLUSIVE: South Bend, IN – Isaiah Deonte Jovan Beavers, a 26-year-old local resident, has been handed a 15-month sentence for a chilling internet threat that shocked the community. The United States Attorney for the Northern District of Indiana, Clifford D. Johnson, announced the sentence before Judge Jon E. DeGuilio.
According to court documents, Beavers posted ominous messages on social media in reference to a scheduled rally in South Bend. He vowed to attend armed with gasoline-filled bottles and shared images of violence and destruction, including one depicting a gun-wielding figure with flames emerging from the back of their head. ‘Speak to Cops in a Language They Understand’ read the caption, a clear threat against law enforcement.
Before the rally could take place, authorities moved swiftly to apprehend Beavers. He now faces years behind bars for his brazen actions. The FBI, alongside local police departments and the ATF, conducted an intensive investigation that led to his arrest.
‘This sentence sends a strong message about the consequences of using the internet to incite violence,’ said Assistant United States Attorney Kenneth M. Hays. ‘Beavers’s actions were reckless and posed a real threat to public safety.’
Despite being detained since his arrest, Beavers has been held accountable for his despicable behavior. His sentence includes 15 months of imprisonment followed by two years of supervised release.
The case serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of online threats and the importance of swift law enforcement action to prevent potential tragedies.
