10-Year Sentence for St. Louis Man in Metro PCS Robbery
ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis man, Kirk Torrence, a/k/a ‘Blue,’ was sentenced to 10 years in prison for his role in a brazen robbery at a Metro PCS store in the city.
The crime took place on September 9, 2018, at the Metro PCS store located on Debaliviere Avenue in the City of St. Louis. Torrence, armed with a firearm, entered the store along with his accomplices. They demanded money from the cashier, who handed over approximately $300 in response to the threats.
Torrence and his accomplices fled the scene in vehicles, with one of them being operated by Torrence. Law enforcement officers were able to track down the suspects and arrest them on robbery-related charges.
Torrence pleaded guilty to the charges in September 2019. He was sentenced by United States District Court Judge Ronnie L. White on the same date.
The investigation into the robbery was a joint effort between the FBI and the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
Torrence’s 10-year sentence is a result of his guilty plea to gun and robbery-related charges. The sentence is a significant blow to Torrence, who will now face a decade behind bars for his role in the violent robbery.
