A Jacksonville man has been ordered to pay a significant amount of restitution to a child victim of sexual exploitation.
On May 31, 2018, United States District Judge Brian J. Davis sentenced Stanley Hagan, Jr. (34, Jacksonville) to 5 years in federal prison, ordered him to serve a 10-year term of supervised release, and required him to register as a sex offender.
Hagan was convicted of receiving child pornography after he admitted to participating in the ongoing sexual exploitation of an 8-year-old child. In late 2015, Darren Dozier, a convicted sex offender from Philadelphia, sent images over the internet depicting his sexual abuse of the child to Hagan.
The FBI (Jacksonville and Philadelphia) investigated the case, and Assistant United States Attorney D. Rodney Brown prosecuted it.
As part of the case, Hagan was ordered to pay $13,619.52 in restitution to the custodian of the child victim.
This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who sexually exploit children, and to identify and rescue victims.
