Steven Allen Longbrake, Methamphetamine Distribution, Oregon 2015

Medford, Ore. – In a major blow to the city’s illicit drug trade, a local man has been sentenced to 12 1/2 years in federal prison for his role in distributing methamphetamine.

Steven Allen Longbrake, 28, of Medford, Oregon, was sentenced on January 12, 2015, in Senior U.S. District Court for possessing methamphetamine with intent to distribute.

Longbrake had previously entered a guilty plea to the offense on September 15, 2014. Following his prison sentence, he will be subject to five years of supervised release.

The charges against Longbrake stemmed from an October 15, 2013, traffic stop by a Central Point Police Officer. The officer discovered approximately four ounces of methamphetamine on Longbrake’s person and in his vehicle, as well as digital scales and drug packaging in his backpack, and a trash bag full of marijuana plants in the back of the car.

He also has previous convictions for assault in the fourth degree, strangulation, escape in the third degree, and possession of a controlled substance.

The case was investigated jointly by the Central Point Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration, and was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Judith R. Harper.
