Steven Brzezinski, Possession of Child Pornography, New York 2017

Buffalo, NY – A Tonawanda man is facing federal charges for possession of child pornography.

According to sources, Steven Brzezinski, 33, of Tonawanda, NY, was arrested and charged with possession of child pornography. The charge carries a maximum penalty of ten years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Brzezinski, who was on probation for an unrelated offense, was in possession of a tablet containing child pornography. He has a previous conviction for endangering the welfare of a child,

The defendant made an initial appearance today before U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael J. Roemer and is being held pending a detention hearing scheduled for July 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

The investigation was led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Adam S. Cohen.

Brzezinski is being held pending a detention hearing scheduled for July 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.

The case is being handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephanie O. Lamarque.
