Stilwell Man Pleads Guilty to Meth Conspiracy

MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – A Stilwell man has pleaded guilty to a methamphetamine conspiracy charge that could land him behind bars for the rest of his life.

Waylon Lee Williams, 37, entered a guilty plea to Drug Conspiracy in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Sections 841(a)(1) and 841(b)(1)(A), punishable by not less than 10 years and not more than life imprisonment, up to a $10,000,000.00 fine, or both.

The indictment alleged that Williams and others conspired to possess and distribute 500 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine, a Schedule II controlled substance, between 2014 and January 2018.

The charges arose from a multi-agency investigation involving the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, the National Guard Counterdrug Task Force, and several other law enforcement agencies.

Assistant United States Attorney Rob Wallace represented the government in the case, which is being prosecuted in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Kimberly E. West accepted the plea and ordered a presentence investigation report, which will help determine the severity of Williams’ sentence.

Williams’ guilty plea is a significant blow to those involved in the methamphetamine trade in northeastern Oklahoma, where the drug has long been a major problem.
