A federal indictment has been unsealed against Takem, accusing the individual of violent crime in Maryland, the U.S. Department of Justice announced on Monday.
Takem, whose full name is not publicly known, allegedly committed the crime, according to court documents filed in the United States District Court for the District of Maryland.
The case, Case No. 8:22-cr-001, was filed on September 26, 2022 in the United States District Court for the District of Maryland (MDD). The defendant is accused of violating federal law related to violent crime.
The indictment charges Takem with one count of violent crime, a federal offense under the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994. If convicted, the defendant faces up to 10 years in federal prison, according to the indictment.
The government alleges that Takem committed the crime on or about September 2022, in Maryland. An indictment is only a charge and not a finding of guilt. The defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
Takem is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. before the Honorable Judge John D. Lawson in the United States District Court for the District of Maryland.
