Christopher L. Daniels, a 47-year-old Tallahassee resident, was found guilty of possessing with intent to distribute various controlled substances, including over 50 grams of methamphetamine, and possessing a firearm as a convicted felon. The conviction came after a joint investigation by the Tallahassee Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, with assistance from the Drug Enforcement Administration. The search warrant was executed on January 21, 2026, at Daniels’ home, where officers found a stash of illicit drugs and four pistols.
The evidence against Daniels was substantial, with approximately 2.75 ounces of methamphetamine, an ounce of cocaine, half an ounce of crack cocaine, and a pound of marijuana seized from his home. Additionally, 64 suspected MDMA tablets were found to be low-purity methamphetamine. The presence of a ‘Draco’ AK-47-style pistol near the plate of crack cocaine further incriminated Daniels.
Daniels, a 12-time convicted felon with a history of serious drug felonies dating back to 1996, faces enhanced sentencing due to his prior convictions. He is scheduled to be sentenced on October 15, 2026, and faces 25 years to life imprisonment, 10 years to life on supervised release, and a fine of up to $20,000,000.
The conviction is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative aimed at combating federal drug trafficking crimes. Assistant United States Attorney James A. McCain prosecuted the case, which was announced by United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida, John P. Heekin.
