Grimy Times Exclusive: Tampa’s Michael Antwohn Wilson is staring down a potential 80-year federal sentence after being indicted for producing and possessing child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
The grim charges against the 38-year-old man detail accusations of creating and attempting to create CSAM in the Middle District of Florida on April 27 and February 23, 2023. Wilson is also accused of having CSAM, including images of minors under 12, from an unspecified date until June 26, 2025.
According to federal prosecutors, Wilson faces a maximum penalty of 80 years in federal prison if convicted on all counts. In addition to the stiff sentence, the government seeks forfeiture of several electronic devices alleged to have been used in the crime: a camera, cellphone, and SD cards.
The grim charges were announced by United States Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe. The indictment is merely a formal charge, and Wilson is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Investigation into Wilson’s alleged crimes was conducted by the Tampa Police Department, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, and the FBI. Assistant United States Attorney Ilyssa M. Spergel will be handling the prosecution.
