TALLAHASSEE, FL – A notorious Tallahassee felon, Anthony Lamorris Davis Jr., 21, has entered a guilty plea in federal court, admitting to two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and two counts of illegal possession of a machinegun. The announcement was made by John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.
Heekin praised local and federal law enforcement agencies for their tireless efforts in removing Davis from the streets, aligning with President Trump’s and Attorney General Bondi’s pledge to ‘Take Back America.’
Court records show that on July 21, 2024, Davis was a passenger in a car stopped by the Leon County Sheriff’s Office. A stolen Glock 9-millimeter pistol with a machinegun conversion device and an extended magazine were found under his seat. He was not arrested at that time.
On October 25, 2024, Tallahassee Police Department officers observed Davis wearing an unusual ski mask and jacket in 87-degree weather. During pedestrian violations stop, they discovered another pistol with a machinegun conversion device in his pocket. The devices from both incidents were 3D-printed and had identical markings. Davis has prior felony convictions for aggravated assault, burglary, and criminal use of personal identification information.
Davis faces up to 15 years per count for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, with an additional 10 years per machinegun possession charge. The investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, the Leon County Sheriff’s Office, and the Tallahassee Police Department.
Sentencing is set for December 8, 2025, at the United States Courthouse in Tallahassee before Judge Robert L. Hinkle. This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a national initiative targeting illegal immigration, cartels, transnational criminal organizations, and violent crime.
