Curtis Williams, Jr., Crack Cocaine Distribution, Florida 2016

Tampa, FL – Curtis Williams, Jr., 34, has been handed a 10-year and 10-month prison sentence for his role in a crack cocaine distribution ring.

Williams pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute 28 grams or more of cocaine base, also known as crack cocaine, on November 29, 2016.

According to court documents, between January and July 2016, Williams and his co-conspirator, Brian Allen, worked together to supply crack cocaine to the streets. During this seven-month period, undercover law enforcement officers purchased crack cocaine from Allen on 12 occasions, totaling more than 128 grams.

The investigation, led by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, revealed a mutually beneficial business arrangement between Williams and Allen. The duo’s operation was shut down after months of surveillance by law enforcement.

Allen, also a key player in the conspiracy, pleaded guilty on January 17, 2017, and is set to face sentencing on May 12, 2017.

Assistant United States Attorneys Michael Leeman and Mike Gordon prosecuted the case against Williams, securing a significant conviction in the fight against crack cocaine distribution in the Tampa area.

U.S. District Judge Elizabeth A. Kovachevich presided over Williams’ sentencing hearing, handing down the 10-year and 10-month prison term. The conviction serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of being involved in the illicit crack cocaine trade. Williams’ sentence will now serve as a deterrent to others who would engage in similar activities.

As the city of Tampa continues to grapple with the effects of crack cocaine distribution, this conviction brings a sense of justice to the community. The sentence handed down to Williams should serve as a warning to those involved in the trade that the law will not hesitate to take action.

Williams will now face the consequences of his actions, serving a significant portion of his life behind bars. The people of Tampa can rest a little easier knowing that one less individual is contributing to the crack cocaine problem that plagues their city.
