Indiana’s Senate has dealt a major blow to the state’s sheriff’s sales, with two bills aimed at giving relief to cash-strapped farmers and city dwellers. The measures, introduced by Senator Alonzo H. Lindley, a Republican from Kingman, are now headed to the House of Representatives, where they are expected to pass with little opposition. The bills, Senate Bill 93 and Senate Bill 94, were passed by the Senate on January 30, 1931, with significant majorities: 41 to 2 and 37 to 8, respectively.
