HARRISBURG – A Harrisburg man is facing federal charges for his alleged involvement in a fentanyl and cocaine trafficking operation in the city.
According to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, Terrance Harden, 27, was indicted on February 27, 2019, by a federal grand jury on charges of possessing with the intent to distribute fentanyl and cocaine on May 31, 2018, in Harrisburg. Additionally, Harden is accused of possessing a loaded 9mm handgun in furtherance of drug trafficking as a convicted felon.
The case was investigated by the Harrisburg Bureau of Police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Assistant U.S. Attorney Johnny Baer is prosecuting the case.
The indictment alleges that Harden was in possession of fentanyl and cocaine with the intent to distribute them on May 31, 2018, in Harrisburg. The maximum penalty under federal law for this offense is life imprisonment, a term of supervised release following imprisonment, and a fine.
This case was brought as part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program aimed at reducing violent crime and making neighborhoods safer for everyone. The case was also brought as part of the Heroin Initiative, a district-wide effort to combat the nationwide epidemic of heroin use and distribution.
