Alvaro Valencia-Sanchez, Methamphetamine Possession, Texas 2015

DALLAS, Texas – Alvaro Valencia-Sanchez, 29, from Apatzingan, Michoacan, Mexico, has been sentenced to 240 months in federal prison for his role in a massive methamphetamine operation.

According to court documents, law enforcement officers conducted a controlled buy on May 26, 2015, and purchased five kilograms of methamphetamine from Francisco Landa-Bravo, Valencia-Sanchez’s co-defendant. Agents then searched the home belonging to Valencia-Sanchez, which was identified as a “stash house” and found 35 kilograms of methamphetamine, a clandestine laboratory, two firearms, and $68,441.

Valencia-Sanchez pleaded guilty in July 2015 to one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. His co-defendant, Francisco Landa-Bravo, also pleaded guilty in August 2015 to the same offense and was sentenced to 121 months in federal prison.

The investigation into Valencia-Sanchez’s operation was a collaborative effort between the Drug Enforcement Administration, Allen Police Department, Garland Police Department, and Rockwall Police Department.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Suzanna Etessam prosecuted the case, bringing Valencia-Sanchez to justice for his role in the massive methamphetamine operation.

Valencia-Sanchez’s sentencing is a significant blow to the Mexican cartels that have been flooding the United States with methamphetamine. His operation was one of the largest in the region, and his sentencing sends a strong message that those who engage in such activities will be held accountable.
