Samson Luna, Child Assault, Texas 2023

San Antonio’s Samson Luna has been locked away for a quarter-century in the harsh embrace of federal prison. The 36-year-old is now paying the ultimate price for a decade-long reign of terror on a child victim, as he was sentenced to 25 years behind bars for his despicable crimes.

Luna’s depravity began in 2013 and stretched all the way until January 2024. His sickening exploitation involved not only sexual assault but also the graphic recording and production of photos depicting the innocence he so callously violated. Luna used multiple devices to film and photograph his victim, compelling her to send him explicit videos and images via cellphone, which he traded for money from his Cash App account.

The court’s search warrant on Luna’s Google account revealed a chilling trove of 87 videos and 45 images. Each piece of evidence painted a more disturbing picture of the unimaginable suffering endured by the victim over a period that spanned ten years.

Luna was finally brought to justice on March 24, 2024, when he was arrested. He faced federal charges for one count of sexual exploitation of a child and two counts of possession of child pornography, which he pleaded guilty to on March 25, 2025. The judge also ordered Luna to pay a restitution fine of $100,000 to the victim.

This harrowing case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations and the Abilene Police Department, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Tracy Thompson leading the prosecution. Luna’s conviction is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative that fights back against the epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse through relentless pursuit of predators like Luna.
