A Cheyenne woman has been sentenced to prison for her role in passing counterfeit US obligations.
Therra Elsner, 32, was sentenced by Federal District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson on July 30, 2014, on one count of passing counterfeit obligations of the United States of America and one count of passing counterfeit obligations of the United States and aiding and abetting.
Elsner was arrested in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
According to the evidence presented in court, Elsner was found guilty of passing counterfeit US obligations, which is a serious crime that can have far-reaching consequences.
The U.S. Secret Service investigated the case, and Elsner was eventually brought to justice.
In addition to her prison sentence, Elsner was also ordered to pay a $200.00 special assessment and restitution in the amount of $190.00.
Therra Elsner’s case serves as a reminder of the importance of combating financial crimes and holding individuals accountable for their actions.
