A Turtle Creek man has been hit with a serious charge of Attempt to Possess with Intent to Distribute 40 Grams or More of a Mixture and Substance Containing a Detectable Amount of Fentanyl in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
According to the indictment, Thomas E. Washington, Jr., 56, attempted to possess with intent to distribute and distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl on or about December 18, 2017.
The indictment was handed down by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The law provides for a minimum total sentence of five years in prison, a fine of $5,000,000, or both. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed would be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
Assistant United States Attorney Yvonne M. Saadi is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.
The United States Postal Inspection Service conducted the investigation leading to the indictment in this case.
