Cocaine Conspiracy Rocks Pittsburgh: Eric Timbers and Lino Espinoza Indicted

U.S. Attorney Scott W. Brady announced today that a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh has indicted two men on charges related to a major cocaine trafficking operation.

The two-count indictment names Eric Timbers, 42, formerly of Pittsburgh, PA, and Lino Espinoza, 44, formerly of Houston, Texas, as the defendants. Timbers and Espinoza are accused of conspiring to possess with intent to distribute and distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine from June 2017 to March 21, 2019.

Both defendants are also charged with possession with intent to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine on March 21, 2019. The indictment alleges that the defendants were involved in a significant cocaine trafficking operation that put the community at risk.

If convicted, the defendants face a minimum total sentence of not less than 10 years and a maximum of life in prison, as well as a fine of not more than $20,000,000.00 or both. The actual sentence imposed would be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.

Assistant United States Attorney Brian M. Czarnecki and Senior Deputy Attorney General Katherine Wymard of the Pennsylvania Attorney General Office’s Organized Crime Section are prosecuting this case on behalf of the government. The investigation was conducted by the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office, the City of Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.

It is essential to note that an indictment is an accusation, and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
