Mobile Man Sentenced for Meth Conspiracy

A Mobile, Alabama man has been sentenced to federal prison for his role in a methamphetamine conspiracy.

Thomas Jefferson Bentley, IV, 34, pleaded guilty in December 2014 to charges of participating in conspiracies to manufacture methamphetamine and to possess a Schedule I chemical, pseudoephedrine, with knowledge it would be used to manufacture a controlled substance.

United States District Court Judge William H. Steele imposed a sentence of time served, which amounted to 20 months on each charge, and ordered that the sentences run concurrently.

Bentley will commence a three-year term of supervised release when he is discharged from incarceration, during which time he will be subject to testing and treatment for drug abuse.

As part of the sentence, Bentley was ordered to pay $200 in special mandatory assessments.

The case was investigated by the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Gloria Bedwell.
