Thomas Kevin Robinson, Violent Crime, Georgia 2022
Savannah, GA – Seven defendants have been federally charged in the Southern District of Georgia for their alleged involvement in various crimes including drug trafficking and illegal possession of firearms.
Thomas Kevin Robinson, 51, of College Park, Ga., has been charged with Interference with Commerce by Robbery, Possession of a Firearm in Furtherance of a Crime of Violence, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
The charges were brought as part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, a collaboration between federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the FBI and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
“I have prioritized targeting violent crime in this District and as we continue to work to protect our communities from violent crime, a key element is the identification of those who illegally possess and use firearms,” said David H. Estes, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Georgia.
Over the past four years, more than 730 defendants have been federally charged in the Southern District of Georgia for illegal firearms offenses.
Other defendants charged in the indictments include Johnathon Emanuel McGahee, Jonathan McGregor, Deon McWhorter, Jonathan Bennett Capece, Akil Shawron Brown, and Jaleel Keron Frazier.
The cases are being investigated and prosecuted as part of an ongoing effort to reduce violent crime in the region.
Criminal indictments contain only charges; defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
