Thomas Rogers, Drug Trafficking, New Jersey 2023

A Trenton man was sentenced to 84 months in prison for his role in a heroin trafficking organization that distributed hundreds of grams of heroin in Trenton and surrounding areas.

Thomas Rogers, 23, previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 100 grams or more of heroin. Rogers admitted possessing at least one firearm during the conspiracy.

In December 2016, Rogers and nine other members of the drug trafficking organization were charged with conspiracy to distribute heroin. The organization was referred to as the ‘Abdullah DTO,’ after its leader, Ishmael Abdullah.

According to documents filed in the case, from June 2015 through December 2016, Rogers and others engaged in a drug trafficking organization that operated in the area of Spring and Passaic Streets in Trenton.

Rogers and other members of the Abdullah DTO used temporary prepaid phones, stash houses, and cars, and spoke in code to avoid detection by law enforcement. In connection with their narcotics conspiracy, Rogers and other members maintained joint access to multiple firearms.

Rogers was sentenced to 84 months in prison and five years of supervised release. The investigation was credited to the Greater Trenton Safe Streets Task Force, including agents and officers from the FBI, ATF, Trenton Police Department, Princeton Police Department, Ewing Police Department, and Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office.

The charges and allegations against the remaining defendants are merely accusations and are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
