Three Mobile men have been sentenced to prison for their involvement in a massive marijuana and firearms conspiracy, according to the United States Attorney for the Southern District of Alabama. Justin Andrew White, 24, Lemarcus Bonner, 32, and Kelvin Terrill Brown, 23, all residents of Mobile, Alabama, were sentenced for their roles in a conspiracy to distribute more than 50 pounds of high-grade marijuana and federal firearms violations.
The investigation, led by the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics and Vice Unit, uncovered a complex web of drug trafficking and firearms activity in the Mobile area. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Donna B. Dobbins with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Alabama.
Justin White was sentenced to serve 24 months in prison, Lemarcus Bonner was sentenced to serve 37 months, and Kelvin Brown was sentenced to serve 12 months, with 6 months in prison followed by 6 months on house arrest. Each sentence included a 3-year term of supervised release. These sentences were imposed as a result of guilty pleas entered by White, Bonner, and Brown in September 2016.
The case against the three men was one of several to arise from a larger investigation into marijuana trafficking in the Mobile area. The investigation, which began in 2016, resulted in the arrest and prosecution of multiple individuals involved in the conspiracy.
Co-defendant Kenneth Williams is scheduled to be sentenced on Monday, December 19, 2016, before District Judge Kristi K. DuBose. The investigation and prosecution of this case demonstrate the commitment of law enforcement and the U.S. Attorney’s Office to combating marijuana trafficking and firearms violence in the Mobile area.
