Tahlequah resident Timothy Allen Truelove, 50, has been found guilty of a serious crime. On January 24, 2024, Truelove knowingly possessed over 100 rounds of ammunition after having been previously convicted of a crime punishable by more than one year imprisonment.
The charge against Truelove, one count of Felon in Possession of Ammunition, carries a potential punishment of up to 15 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.00.
The case against Truelove arose from an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service.
Truelove entered a guilty plea to the charge, which was accepted by the Honorable Jason A. Robertson, U.S. Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
A U.S. District Court Judge will now determine the sentence to be imposed after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Jonathan E. Soverly represented the United States in the case.
Truelove’s current status is that he has pleaded guilty to the charge and is awaiting sentencing. The exact date of sentencing has not been announced.
