The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) has made a significant shake-up in its leadership by appointing Timothy (Tim) Rich as the new Atlanta Regional Director. With over three decades of service, Rich brings extensive experience and knowledge to this crucial position.
Rich’s tenure at the FDIC began as a Bank Examiner in Knoxville, TN Field Office. His career has been marked by numerous promotions and assignments, culminating in his current role. He has served as Deputy Regional Director in the Atlanta Region since 2021 and Assistant Regional Director for a decade before that.
In addition to his extensive experience within the FDIC, Rich holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from the University of Montevallo and is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin. His educational background is complemented by his successful completion of the Senior Executive Fellows Program at the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.
As Regional Director, Rich will be responsible for overseeing both Risk Management and Consumer Protection supervision programs for financial institutions in the Atlanta Region. His appointment is seen as a strategic move to enhance the FDIC’s oversight capabilities in the region.
