CLEVELAND – A severe blow was struck in the battle against Northeast Ohio’s illicit drug trade as Terrance D.N. McCormick, a.k.a. TNasty, 41, of Akron, received a 35-year sentence for his role as the leader of a major drug trafficking conspiracy.
Mccormick pleaded guilty to charges including conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, and possessing firearms in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense. His previous convictions for aggravated burglary, domestic violence, and drug trafficking added to his sentence.
The sentence by U.S. District Judge Donald C. Nugent includes 420 months (35 years) of imprisonment, followed by five years of supervised release, and the forfeiture of $8,560 in cash, a Rolex watch, a Chevrolet Corvette, and seized firearms.
McCormick’s organization was accused of dealing meth, fentanyl, and cocaine from 2023 to 2024. They operated out of Akron-area homes and commercial buildings, using firearms as part of their operations. Federal agents recovered large amounts of drugs and guns during searches in 2023 and 2024.
The DEA Cleveland Field Office led the investigation, which was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Peter E. Daly for the Northern District of Ohio.
This sentencing sends a clear message that the justice system will not tolerate the leadership of drug trafficking operations. TNasty’s sentence stands as a stark reminder of the consequences faced by those who engage in such criminal activities.
