Topeka Predator Sentenced for AI Child Pornography

TOPEKA, KAN. – Jeremy Weber, a 47-year-old Topeka resident, was sentenced to 25 years in prison for the heinous crime of creating and distributing child pornography using artificial intelligence. According to court documents, Weber uploaded photographs of women and children into an AI platform, manipulating them into hundreds of depictions of child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

‘Weber’s actions are a chilling reminder of how technology can be misused for the darkest of purposes,’ said U.S. Attorney Ryan A. Kriegshauser. ‘The creation of realistic-looking CSAM using AI is a new frontier in the realm of child exploitation, and it underscores the need for vigilance and swift justice.’

The investigation into Weber’s activities began when an IT professional noticed suspicious activity on his computer. A subsequent search warrant led to the discovery of an encrypted hard drive containing folders named after women, each filled with newly manufactured sexually explicit images.

‘The FBI is committed to cracking down on those who exploit technology for criminal purposes,’ said Special Agent in Charge Stephen A. Cyrus. ‘Weber’s sentencing sends a clear message that this behavior will not be tolerated.’

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Sara L. Walton as part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse online.
