Tracii Show-Hutsona, Embezzlement, New York 2021

NEW YORK, NY – Tracii Show-Hutsona, a self-described “VIP Concierge” specializing in luxury travel and experiences, is facing federal charges after allegedly pilfering over $1 million from a client to bankroll a lavish lifestyle. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, alongside the U.S. Secret Service and the NYPD, announced the arrest of Show-Hutsona on February 17, 2021, following a probe into her firm, Elite Lux Life.

Show-Hutsona, also known as “Tracii Show Vician,” marketed Elite Lux Life as a provider of “Jets-Yachts-Vacation Rentals-Exotic Vehicles” – promising clients the “very best life has to offer.” But, prosecutors allege, she was delivering the good life to herself, using funds stolen from her victim, identified only as “Victim-1.” The scheme reportedly spanned from 2015 to late 2019, with Show-Hutsona leveraging her position as a personal assistant to gain access to Victim-1’s financial accounts.

The indictment details a brazen pattern of theft, with Show-Hutsona allegedly spending over $1 million of Victim-1’s money on personal expenses. The most callous aspect of the alleged fraud? Prosecutors say she even dipped into the victim’s children’s college savings accounts. When confronted, Show-Hutsona allegedly promised to rectify the situation, only to continue siphoning funds without authorization. This wasn’t Show-Hutsona’s first brush with the law; she was previously convicted in federal court in 2008 for fraud and aggravated identity theft related to fraudulent invoices.

“Tracii Show-Hutsona, a personal assistant and founding partner of Elite Lux Life, branded her concierge service as the ‘VIP Concierge Company…SPECIALIZING IN THE GOOD LIFE,’” stated U.S. Attorney Audrey Strauss. “As alleged, Show-Hutsona afforded herself the same swanky accommodations she promised her clientele – only she did so with their money.” Strauss added that the Secret Service and NYPD’s efforts “grounded” Show-Hutsona’s scheme and brought her to face charges in federal court.

Kathy A. Michalko, Special Agent-in-Charge of the U.S. Secret Service’s New York Field Office, emphasized the agency’s commitment to tackling financial crimes. “The accused was employed by the victim and allegedly used her position to embezzle over one million dollars for her own personal gain,” Michalko said. NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea echoed the sentiment, stating that Show-Hutsona “turned her clients into victims, betraying their trust to carry out her own embezzlement scheme.”

Show-Hutsona was presented before United States Magistrate Judge Michelle H. Burns in Arizona following her arrest. The charges against her include wire fraud and identity theft. The full extent of her alleged fraud and the potential for further victims remain under investigation. The case highlights the vulnerabilities of high-net-worth individuals and the importance of stringent financial oversight, even when dealing with trusted personal assistants.
