Fatal fentanyl distribution landed Jessica Lee Erickson, 44, behind bars for fourteen years. The Florida resident from Daytona Beach was sentenced by United States District Court Chief Judge C.J. Williams in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Erickson’s grim career began in May 2024 when she started selling a deadly mix containing fentanyl to an unsuspecting victim in Dubuque. Her final distribution came on June 15, 2024, which proved to be the victim’s last day alive.
Assistant United States Attorney Nicole L. Nagin prosecuted the case with relentless determination, leading to Erickson’s guilty plea to one count of distribution of a controlled substance resulting in death on January 2, 2025. The judge sentenced Erickson to 168 months’ imprisonment, followed by five years of supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.
Until transportation to a federal prison can be arranged, Erickson remains in the custody of the United States Marshal’s Service.
