Rochester, Indiana Man Sentenced to 77 Months in Prison
Grimy Times has learned that Travis Norman, a 30-year-old man from Rochester, Indiana, has been sentenced to 77 months in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Norman was arrested on October 4, 2018, after Rochester police received a complaint about a suspicious person at a local hotel. Upon further investigation, police found Norman in a hotel room with seven grams of methamphetamine, three grams of heroin, drug paraphernalia, a large amount of United States currency, and a loaded Smith and Wesson handgun.
Norman’s arrest came just a few months after he was convicted of Dealing Methamphetamine in Marshall County.
The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) with the assistance of the Rochester Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Kimberly Schultz handled the case.
Norman was sentenced to 77 months in prison followed by 3 years of supervised release. This sentence serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
