Demetrius Thomas, 39, of Michigan City, Indiana, was sentenced to 71 months in prison followed by 2 years of supervised release after pleading guilty to 5 counts of Hobbs Act Robbery, announced U.S. Attorney Thomas L. Kirsch II.
According to documents in the case, Thomas conducted a series of 5 armed robberies from December 24, 2017 through January 1, 2018. The robberies occurred at a drug store, a pizzeria, and gas stations.
