FORT WAYNE, INDIANA – A local man has been sentenced to prison for violating federal firearms laws, announced U.S. Attorney Kirsch.

Tyson Hudson, age 34, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, was sentenced to 90 months in prison followed by 2 years of supervised release after pleading guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm.

According to court documents, in February 2019, Hudson was found in possession of three handguns, including a .45 caliber pistol, a 9mm pistol, and a .25 caliber pistol, as well as ammunition.

Hudson’s history with firearms and narcotics is well-documented. In 2007, he was convicted and sentenced in federal court for distribution of 5 grams or more of crack cocaine.

The case against Hudson was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Fort Wayne Police Department.

Assistant United States Attorney Lesley J. Miller Lowery handled the case.

Hudson’s sentence serves as a reminder of the consequences of violating federal firearms laws. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and local law enforcement agencies will continue to work together to ensure the safety of our communities.
