A former TSA Security Officer at Boston Logan International Airport, Ismael Rosado Jr, 40, of Worcester, scammed the system to get $47,526 in pandemic unemployment benefits while working full-time from November 2018 to October 2021. Between May 2020 and September 2021, Rosado submitted fake applications and weekly certifications claiming he was unemployed and making no income. He pleaded guilty to wire fraud in February 2026 and was charged in December 2025.
Rosado’s sentence was three years of probation, and he was ordered to pay $47,526 in restitution. The government had recommended a sentence of four months in prison followed by one year of supervised release. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Brian Sullivan of the Criminal Division.
