Luis Alberto Hernandez-Garcia, Hugo Alberto Hernandez-Mendez, Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine, Alabama 2024

Two illegal aliens were arrested and charged with conspiring with a cartel to distribute more than 100 pounds of methamphetamine in the Northern District of Oklahoma, announced the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Oklahoma.

Luis Alberto Hernandez-Garcia, 35, of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, and Hugo Alberto Hernandez-Mendez, 32, of Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico, were arrested on March 22, 2024, by the Tulsa Police Department and the U.S. Border Patrol.

The defendants were charged by complaint with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, in violation of 21 U.S.C. § 846, which carries a sentence of not less than 10 years nor more than life imprisonment and a fine of up to $10 million.

According to the affidavit in support of the complaint, on March 22, 2024, the Tulsa Police Department executed a search warrant at a residence in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and seized over 100 pounds of methamphetamine, with an estimated street value of over $2.5 million.

The investigation revealed that the defendants were working with a Mexican cartel to distribute the methamphetamine in the Northern District of Oklahoma.
