Tymane Hamilton, Drug Conspiracy, Ocala FL, 2022

OCALA, FL – Tymane D. Hamilton, 30, of Phoenix, Arizona, will spend the next 16 years and 8 months behind bars after being sentenced today for his central role in a massive drug trafficking operation that saturated central Florida with narcotics. U.S. District Judge Roy B. Dalton, Jr. handed down the sentence following Hamilton’s guilty plea on April 19, 2022. The bust, a joint effort between multiple federal agencies, reveals a sophisticated network responsible for importing over 150 kilograms of illegal drugs.

Court documents detail how Hamilton conspired with others in Lake County, Florida, to bring in more than 100 kilograms of methamphetamine, exceeding 50 kilograms of cocaine, over 1 kilogram of heroin, and more than 50 kilograms of marijuana. From 2018 to 2019, Hamilton and his co-conspirators shipped a staggering 49 parcels containing these deadly substances from source states like Arizona and California directly into the heart of Florida. Once delivered, the drugs were distributed through a network of street-level dealers operating within the Middle District of Florida.

Hamilton wasn’t just a middleman; he was a key logistics provider. Evidence presented in court demonstrated he was directly responsible for acquiring the drugs and meticulously packaging them for shipment. On at least two occasions, Hamilton personally shipped packages from California, each containing several kilograms of methamphetamine and marijuana, bypassing any attempt at discretion. The operation’s scale suggests a well-funded and organized criminal enterprise, profiting handsomely from the misery of addiction.

Hamilton isn’t the only one facing consequences. Three other members of the drug ring have already pleaded guilty and received sentences from Judge Dalton. Devonne L. Walker, 36, of Lady Lake, FL, received the harshest sentence: 25 years in federal prison after pleading guilty on July 28, 2021, and being sentenced on November 16, 2021. Chauncy Stackhouse, 30, of Leesburg, FL, pleaded guilty on March 25, 2021, and was sentenced to 8 years on May 16, 2022. Kanisha D. Savage, 29, also of Phoenix, AZ, received 5 years and 10 months after pleading guilty on November 10, 2021, and being sentenced on April 19, 2022.

The investigation was spearheaded by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), with crucial support from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, the U.S. Postal Service Inspection Service, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). The collaborative effort underscores the multi-agency approach required to dismantle complex drug trafficking organizations. Assistant United States Attorney Michael P. Felicetta prosecuted the case, ensuring these criminals face justice.

While Hamilton and his crew are now behind bars, the DEA warns that the demand for these drugs remains high, fueling further criminal activity. Law enforcement continues to target these networks, aiming to disrupt the flow of narcotics and protect communities from the devastating consequences of drug abuse. The Tampa Field Division of the DEA remains vigilant in its commitment to combating drug trafficking and bringing those responsible to justice.
